WRITING:

It’s nearly May and I’ve decided to make some resolutions because I want to improve some things in my life before I finish the school and rowing.

I promise to study more because now we are in the end of the course and I need best marks. In the first term I was great but the next time I’m going to be better!

I’m good at rowing and my coach said me I have got a nice attitude but I need to train harder than now because in a few months there are important competitions. By the time, I’m glad with my marks but now I’m going to train more to get the best mark.

Hi friend,

Banyoles is big but not much. I think it’s to boring. If it will had a cinema, a game room or something like that, the city could be perfect because teenagers could meet there and have a great time. But I think too it’s a good city to spend the summer because there are more activities for teenagers to do than in winter. For example, in the summer you can meet your friends and go in the lake and swim, or you can relax under the sun and read a book...

Chloe left. While Mr Wood saw her homework, Adam continue thinking about that.

After that he went to the dining room and he sat next to Chloe. At that moment nobody said nothing but a few minutes later, she asked him:

-What were you doing there?

Adam was in silence and then he saw her eyes. He fell in love with her.

-Adam, are you okay?- she asked.

-Yes, I’m glad to see you- she answered.

-Thanks, to me too- she said enthusiastic.

She watched his eyes and he watched her eyes too, and they kissed. Then they continued talking about the castle and Adam told her what he had done there.

WRITING 3:

Adam left his history book at school and would like to borrow Chloe’s. He decides to write an email.

Hi Chloe,

I need your help. Yesterday I didn’t put my history book in the bag and I’m going to need it because tomorrow there is an exam. Can you borrow your book, please? I’m going to back you tomorrow after the exam.

SELENA GOMEZ

HER FIRST LOVE:

justin was Selena's first love. The started dating when Selena was 18 and justin was 16. In five years, their relationship was full of excesses, like when Justin rented a stadium in Los Angeles so that Selena could watch the film Titanic! They split up and got back together again many times, and sang about each other in their hit songs. but whatever happens, Selena can't forget Justin: "I'll forever support him and love him in a way..." she says.

HER FANS: 

Selena talks to her fans, the Selenators, via twitter. She has a "nice-girl" image and has rarely tried to shock, and  her fans stayed with her during the transformation from teenage actress to pop star. The challenge was to see how they would react to her new album, Revival, which is more personal and adult than the Selenators are as loyal as ever!

HER BEST FRIEND:

Taylor Swift is Selena's best friend. The two share advice on careers and relationships. They fall out sometimes, but they always patch things up. Taylor Swift cried when Selena sang at the 2014 American Music Awards, and she wore a necklace with an S for Selena on Selena's 22nd birthday. Taylor admires and supports her friend. 

PUNK FOR A DAY

40 years after punk rock was cretaed in England, it is still popular. Every year, there is a special " Punk for a Day Day" celebration. The first punk rock group, the Sex Pistols, shocked Britain in 1975, and have inspired many other bands. You could even dress as a punk for Halloween!!

PARAGRAPH 1:

Where were you? In the underground

Who were you with? My mother and my sister.

We caught the wrong line.

PARAGRAPH 3:

We up in the underground, we went to another city, then we caught a different line and we arrived at the hotel.

WRITING:

Last summer, I went to London with my mother and my sister. We traveled by plane. When we arrived we went to the underground because we needed to get to at the hotel.

We walked in the street searching for the underground. When we found one, we saw the different lines. We thought the blue line was the correct so we caught it. When the underground stop we got off but we didn't see the hotel. We caught a wrong line!

In the end although we caught the wrong line, we arrived. At time at that moment we felt stressed but then all was great!

INDIVIDUAL SPORTS ARE BORING

Now in the world, there are more sports collectives than individuals. Different persons participate in all.

I haven’t been in an individual sport yet, but a lot of people practice. They say they can do the exercise better because the trainer only trains you. You don’t have problems with other persons because is individual. And when you win you feel happy because the effort was solely do it for you.

However, there are some disadvantages. Some of the people say is boring because you haven’t anybody to talk. But others don’t think about this, just think they need to train more because they need to do more effort.

To conclude, I think an individual sport is boring. Is funnier to practice sport with a team. And I think individual sports are more tired than team sports, because if you play an individual sport like running you need to run all the time and if you do team sports like basketball you can have a break. 

AN INFORMAL EMAIL

Hi Carlota,

How are you? I haven't written before because I've had exams and now I'm having too but they are easier.

It was great to hear that you are coming to Banyoles to practise your Catalan. I know you practise Catalan in school but... Have you ever had a conversation with a Catalan person? Spanish and Catalan are different because Catalan is the language we speak in Catalonia and Spanish we speak in Spain.

Catalan has some different vocabulary. What do you think “hola”, “com estas?” mean? The answer is “hello” and “how are you?”. Catalans say please a lot we are very polite.

Anyway, who is coming with you? Text me when you arrive.
